Traditional public transit has long been preoccupied with efficiently moving high volumes of riders at once. This approach neglects the needs of the passenger, and can create confusing, stressful, cold, uncomfortable, and uninspiring experiences. As a result, too many people revert to personal cars which provide a sense of control and familiarity. However, this convenience and comfort come at a significant cost—we spend too much time sitting in traffic, but it also impacts us financially, environmentally, and in terms of our collective sense of community.
Our approach at Glydways is radically different. We place the individual rider at the heart of our design philosophy. It starts with the concept of a personal ride. Each rider utilizes a dedicated Glydcar, just for them and their party. This fundamental shift in designing transit for the individual, not the masses, changes everything we know about urban mobility.

For us, a ride experience should seamlessly envelop the rider, anticipating and meeting their every need empathically. We’re pioneering a transit experience that transcends the ordinary, reshaping how riders perceive public transportation. In today’s transit landscape, the focus primarily centers around meeting the minimum accessibility standards outlined by the ADA. While these standards are crucial for ensuring basic accessibility, transit systems tend to prioritize the need to efficiently move high volumes of riders at once. Relegating accessibility considerations to secondary importance, resulting in persistent barriers and inconveniences that disproportionately affect those who rely on mobility options the most—our disabled riders.
Our mission at Glydways is to break barriers and provide effortless and dignified access to all, regardless of mobility, sight, or hearing needs. We seamlessly blend cutting-edge tech with personal vehicles to far exceed ADA standards. We’ve witnessed wheelchair riders test our system and become visibly emotional at the newfound opportunity Glydways provides—not just mobility, but independence without reliance on others.
